Frans Nijs is known around the European Commission mainly as one of the early ambassadors of more participatory way of working and hosting of the conversations we have among ourselves and so-called ‘stakeholders’. In this episode he talks to Lucia Klestincova about his experience of experimenting with more fun in his meetings dedicated to strict financial procedures – quite an unusual area to start with. As a Belgian that has worked for decades in the international context of the European institutions, he also shares his impressions of the impact of the EU enlargement on Brussels and integration of us, expats, into the city of Brussels. Lastly, would you expect a financial expert to also be a writer, philosopher and possibly your role model in journaling? Stay tuned.
